Who are we?

The Philénis Foundation was created on May 6, 2022 by non-profit organization/NGO Aspasie to combat the abuses suffered by sex workers in Geneva.
Despite the law on prostitution (L-PROST) in Geneva, which aims to protect sex workers, their working conditions remain problematic: strong relationships of dependence between sex workers and the managers of erotic establishments, apartments’ landlords who demand exorbitant rents to sex workers, often abusive working conditions, and insalubrious state of many workplaces, among other factors, keep many sex workers in precarious situations.
In response to these challenges, Philénis Foundation supports, contributes to and develops projects and activities that promote the autonomy and rights of sex workers.
In concrete terms, Philénis rent and manages living and working spaces at fair prices, enabling sex workers to live and work in better conditions, both in terms of housing and work, while considerably reducing the financial pressures and constraints that keep them in often exploitative situations.
The Fondation Philénis is a non-profit organization, with no political, religious or governmental affiliations. All profits, returns and net rental income are allocated in their entirety to the pursuit of the Foundation’s objectives.
